Call for Contributions: Anthology on Nonmonogamy and Children

Thornapple Press authors Ashley Speed and Kevin Patterson are seeking contributions for the forthcoming anthology A Bigger Table: Parents and Children on Life in Nonmonogamous Families.

Where most existing books on polyamory focus on dating and adult relationships, this collection presents diverse experiences and perspectives from people who have started, or in some cases, lived their whole lives in unconventional family units. Offering a counterbalance to common stereotypes and a realistic look at a surprisingly common but underrepresented lifestyle, this collection is for anyone looking for a better understanding of the numerous ways polyamorous people form and grow their families over time.

We seek contributions from parents, children, and other members of families who live nonmonogamously, as well as practitioners such as therapists, teachers or clergy who work with members of nonmonogamous families. We are especially interested in contributions from cis- and transgender men and other masculine-identified people, as well as from people who grew up in nonmonogamous families. We will consider contributions from anywhere in the world, but contributions from Canadians will be prioritized. Essays should be 1,500 to 3,000 words. Contributors will be paid CA$200.

If you are interested in contributing, email abiggertable@thornapplepress.ca with your name, short bio including information on your relationship to nonmonogamy and nonmonogamous families with children, and a short description of your proposed essay topic.
