Ryan Cho (he/him) is a second-generation Chinese Canadian teacher and writer born and raised in the traditional unceded territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations, also known as Victoria, BC. He has been involved with gender and anti-racism work for over a decade and was recognized for his contribution to social justice education with the B.C. Premier’s Award for Excellence in Education in 2018.
Ryan published his first piece of poetry in the Oratorealis Poetry Journal in 2017 and won a Golden Leaf Award from the Canadian Educational Press Association in 2013. Thornapple Press will publish his first book, Lost and Found: Asian Masculinity in a Word Made for Whiteness, in 2026.
